Several emerging trends are pointing to the re-emergence of the bicycle as an important leisure and recreational transportation mode. Yet little research has been conducted into cycling within a tourism context. This paper examines the increasing phenomenon of bicycle tourism by defining bicycle tourists and bicycle tourism from a demand perspective, and describes the characteristics, infrastructure and travel behaviour associated with bicycle tourism through the examination of data collected on independent cycle tourists in the South Island of New Zealand. It illustrates through performance-importance analysis, the areas of major concern in the planning and management of bicycle tourism, and recommends that a demand side perspective is needed if the supply side of the industry is to be sustainable in the future. It makes recommendations for the future planning and management of bicycle tourism in New Zealand that may be of interest to countries currently developing cycle tourism.  相似文献

Research in the field of autonomous vehicle technology focuses on its enhanced safety and convenience for vehicle occupants. The present paper seeks to establish a line of inquiry that addresses the implications of autonomous vehicle technology for nonmotorized road users, in the present case, bicyclists. Studies show that motorized traffic volume and speed affect nonmotorized agents' behavior and facility preference, but the degree to which this will apply to a driverless environment requires further study. We developed a stated-preference survey that had respondents select their preferred facility in a variety of hypothetical scenarios with and without the presence of driverless vehicles and on street types of varying motorized traffic volumes and speeds. A Random Parameters Logit Model is estimated to analyze the links between facility preferences, sociodemographics, street types, and the existence of driverless vehicles. The model results suggest that increases in motorized traffic volumes and speeds correlate with a greater preference for separated facilities. The presence of driverless vehicles amplifies this preference. Controlling for other factors, under driverless vehicle conditions, the odds of selecting protected facilities, such as buffered bicycle lanes and cycle tracks, were more than double the odds found under current conditions. We conclude with recommendations for infrastructure and policy and suggestions for future research in this nascent field of study.  相似文献

Abstract

To date, little work has compared similarities and differences between parent and young people’s perceptions of barriers to and facilitators of bicycle helmet and booster seat usage. Our goal was to conduct such a comparison in order to inform future safety campaigns. Eleven focus groups with a total of 68 parents and 11 focus groups with a total of 76 young people were conducted. Recruitment was conducted and focus groups were held in diverse neighbourhoods to facilitate participation by families from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Overall, parents and their children agreed on 50% of the barriers identified for bicycle helmet use and approximately 40% of the barriers for booster seats. Barriers common to both types of equipment for parents and children included comfort, style and design, and fear of teasing. Common facilitators included perceived safety, and comfort. While there was considerable overlap between the perspectives of parents and young people, there were also differences, underscoring the importance of addressing both perspectives. The barriers and facilitators identified were modifiable to a large extent; based on these, recommendations for future injury prevention campaigns were outlined.  相似文献

乡村产业绿道是在现有乡村绿道或美丽乡村精品线规划建设的基础上,以乡村产业融合发展为导向的线性空间规划设计,而乡村产业绿道规划建设的关键步骤就是规划选线。为探究乡村产业绿道规划选线的内在机制,在研究有关乡村产业绿道文献的基础上,提出了乡村产业绿道选线的基本特征,在GIS技术辅助绿道选线的思路下,选取产业资源层、服务需求层、设施基础层和生态基底层作为选线要素,进而确定选线因子,通过层次分析法(AHP)、德尔菲法(Delphi)构建了乡村产业绿道的适宜性评价体系。最后以浙江省嘉兴市油车港镇为例进行GIS应用与乡村产业绿道选线实践探索,验证评价体系的可行性,从而为乡村产业绿道选线提供理论指导  相似文献

共享单车企业向消费者收取押金的性质与线下交易之押金性质不同,应被认定为债之关系,消费者在交付押金后无法保有其所有权,仅享有对共享单车企业的债权返还请求权,因而其只能向共享单车企业主张返还,不可任意穿透债的相对性原理而及于第三人。在此前提下,倘若企业破产后消费者仍无法追回其全部押金,除可适用公司法人人格否认制度向股东追偿等少数情形之外,该损失应依私法自治原则,由消费者个人承担。  相似文献

公共自行车系统的建设和使用在我国正处于发展阶段,为了改进该系统以便更好地为公众服务并对正准备引入该系统的城市提供经验,本研究在国内外相关研究的基础上,主要采用问卷调查的形式,研究无锡市公共自行车系统的服务现状及公众对它的满意度。利用SPSS18.0对调查的数据进行处理,采用因子分析法从公共自行车的9个观测变量中提炼出三类主成分因子,在此基础上对分析结果进行解释,并结合国内外发展经验提出城市公共自行车系统应由政府主导,公共自行车网点布局、车道建设应该有长远、全面的规划,促进无锡市的公共自行车系统的不断发展,以完善城市公共交通体系。  相似文献
